Ok since I built the Ammo Box gasifier, I think a small 3 hp generator will be the best fit for it. Now you could go and get a 2000 watt generator or you can build it. So that is what we are going to do!!
This will also be a good match for the M-1 Base model gasifier as well.
The engine showed up today. But I am still awaiting for the alternator yet. This will be a 60 amp 12 volt DC power unit I plan to add a 2000 watt inviter. In addition there will be a revision to add a battery boost pack. With wood gas you must de-rate the power by 50%. So that 2000 Honda / HF inverter genny will only be good for 1000 watts max. So I am going to add a plug battery pack to boost peak power output and this should get the unit more on par with the gasoline rating. The benefit with this unit is you can bypass the inverter and go direct DC for direct battery charging. The plug will be plug and play with my battery bank so I can simply un plug the boost pack and use that same plug to plug into my off grid system.
I have designed a kit and as soon I get this proto built I will offer this as a kit.
