Matt I need the part number of the blower on my M3 Ultility RTR. I believe you get them Central Vacuume but I need the exact part number. Can you help me out with that? Thanks Jack. (2022 buyer)
Yes I do have speed control on my blower. I could not get a flare. Had plenty of fire in the box. I made the charcoal a while back and stored it is 55 gallon drums. I think maybe it picked up some moisture in the garage. Dont have a way to measure the moisture.
If the gas could light it was probably ok to run the generator. You will not always get a sustaing flare thats just the way charcoal is. This especially the case with our blower as they are very powerful even on the low speeds.
Have you ran an engine yet on the machine or is this your first attempt.
Sorry for replying so late. Wix is not sending notifications like its supposed too.
Can you record a short video of you lighting the machine once you get your new blower installed? You can upload a short 3 minute or less video to the site here. Better option is to create a youtube channel if you have not created one yet. Then post the video here. Click the camera icon on the bottom of the posting window here and then you past the URL it will post.
If you can not get a sustained flare and you are running a speed controller; then something is wrong.
If you are not running a speed controller then the blower is just too powerful to sustain a flare it will just blow itself out plus it will over drive the reactor core. You dont want to do that. Even with a speed controller you cant always get a sustained flare. As long as the gas will ignite; this is all you are looking for and can then go straight to engine running. Never run the machine just to monitor the flare ever. 2 minutes and the blower then needs to be turned off so it can cool.
However make sure both the clean out lid and the hopper lid are sealing. A way to test this is to wrap duct tape around the intake air holes of the jet and just turn the blower on. Then try to open the lid. The blower at full power it should be very dificult if not impossible to open either lid. If there is a leak then you will need to adjust the hinge bolts. Loosen the hinge bolts and put a heavy wieght on top of the hopper lid and then lock the bolts down. The clean out door we just adjust this with it latched and apply presure to the opposite side and lock the hinge down. You can also listen by ear for hissing during this test around those seals.
Spray some penetrating oil in there and you will have to work it back and forth. Yeah you dont want to insert that plug in to far. What happens is the machine will expand when hot and then retract as it cools and lock that thing in. Penetrating oil will usually get it loose.
If not then use try and get the smaller lower one out and use it to light the machine. Get it hot and then try to get it out. Just be careful not to burn yourself on the machine.

Are you having trouble lighting the flare?

Also the igniting hole plug welded itself in. Cant even get it out with a pipe wrench.
There are a bunch of different part numbers. As long as the housing is the same it will work.
Here is the link to ones we get from Amazon.
