First attempt at starting the M-2 Mule and it was a success ! Watched the Thrive off grid YouTube video and followed the cold start procedure. I’m using oak charcoal the size of quarters and it was really easy to operate.Cant wait to hook It up to a 5hp motor soon.

Ok,first time attempting to run a electric start 8hp Tecumseh Snowblower with a M-2 Mule RTR.I decided to use this motor because of the electric start option.I started the Gasifier from a cold start by following Thrive off grid YouTube channel cold start video,as soon as I had a strong flame I turned off the blower closed the large ball valve and started to turn over the motor with electric start.By adjusting the air mixture valve and turning over the motor and it started to slowly combust the gas and after a few misfires it started running in less than two minutes ! I was astonished ! Made a few more adjustments with the water needle valve and air mixture valve and the 8hp motor was running strong,I even cranked the throttle up with the engine Governor. In order to have a strong air tight connection at the carburetor I custom made a sealed electronics box with a quick connect. This was crucial to have no leaks in the system.
Ok,I have practiced operating the M-2 Mule RTR from a cold start several times now and I’m felling confident doing that. The question I have now is does the flame need to hold steady before I close the large ball valve to bypass the gas to the ammo box filter and engine ? Or would there be enough of the flammable gas to run a motor with a intermittent flame that I need to reignite with a torch every 30 seconds to 1 minute. Sometimes when I practice operating the Gasifier I have a flame that does not stay lit and needs to be reignited and then sometimes I have a steady flame that keeps burning
My theory is that if I can ignite the gas with a torch regardless of how steady or intermittent the flame is,there is enough flammable gas for a motor to run on it.Anybody have suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
That is so awesome. This is what the market dont seem to understand. You are not going to just buy other gasifiers on the market and do what these machines can do. These are true consumer grade gasifier systems.
